Screw cap or cork ? Now there's a choice !

For centuries, corks have fulfilled their mission : to be a secure wine bottle closure and permit slow oxygeno-maturation of the contents while assuring their protection. But over the 10 past years, connoisseurs have noticed an increased degradation of corks' efficiency and a corresponding rise in the number of corked bottles. Today, 6-8% of bottles closed with a cork show a noticeable fault after opening, even those using the highest-quality corks. The principal cause of this problem lies in atmospheric pollution. It is out of our hands to fix this problem --much as we would like to-- so in the interests of our clients and the best preservation of our wines, we have decided to bottle some of our production with screw caps (Bourgogne Aligoté, Chardonnay and Bourgogne rouge). As a result, we will be able to guarantee our wines will be in the best possible condition. What's more, the screw caps we have chosen utilize a special joint which allows the wines to "breathe" normally, optimizing their condition and aging as the best corks have always done.

Finally, as we now are using both bottling systems -corks and screw caps- you our client will have the possibility to choose the closure the suits your needs best.
